Today, I received a rather suspicious call from this number, purporting to be the helpline for BT Open Reach. The caller claimed that there was a fault with my broadband router, stating that it wasn’t performing at its peak speed. However, when I posed a few straightforward technical queries, they couldn’t provide any satisfactory answers and abruptly ended the call when I pressed for more clarity. I strongly suspect this is a scam aimed at gaining access to my network. It’s also worth mentioning that they had previously contacted me from a different number, 04576521, which seems like an attempt to mask their real identity. The number they used today, 01798815714, might not even be legitimate.
