I promptly hung up, and upon further investigation, discovered that this number has indeed been flagged as a scam. They also claimed they could lower the cost of my policy. I asked them which insurance company they were from, since they said they worked for them, but they couldn’t give me a clear answer, just rattled off a bunch of different names. Then they wanted my address, and I told them surely if they really represented the company they should already have that info. After that, they just ended the call on me.
