On the 5th of August 2022, I got a phone call from someone claiming to be with BT working for EE. They told me I’d been hacked and gave me a long code with numbers and letters to enter into my phone. I didn’t trust it and hung up straight away. I dialled 1471 to see who called, then the same number rang me back. I ended the call again. After checking 1471 once more, I found he’d called from a different number entirely! I contacted EE to let them know what was happening, and they said they’d report it as a scam. The two numbers he used to call me were: 00496 57903008 and 01797 228779.

Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media, but when I asked for my account number they just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me.
