Got a call from someone pretending they were from prison, sounded like a total prank just messing about.

Has anyone else received calls from what looks like a prison phone line? I’ve been getting a few calls from numbers beginning with 01795, but the last few digits change - they seem to use about 3 or 4 different lines. Wondering if this is legit or some kind of scam?

Got a call from someone trying to con me into sending cash to an address in SE14, London. Seems like a proper scam. Watch out!

Just to add on from what I said yesterday, I’ve now found out that this number actually belongs to someone in prison that I’m in touch with, and they rang me from Swaleside. So yeah, the call was genuine for me. From what I hear, it seems like you can’t call that number back though.

I saw a missed call from this number and wanted to find out who it was. Seeing the details about kent and prison, i reckon it could be someone from hmp swaleside, either an inmate ringing through or maybe a staff member checking if the person on the phone is allowed to take the call. So it might actually be a legit call this time.

This number belongs to Elmly Prison. It's actually an outbound line the inmates use to make calls.

So, I got a call from a number and I’m pretty sure it was someone in prison trying to get in touch. Not really keen on having any chat with them. I’m curious if this number is like a shared line for people inside there or something.
