Looked like a scam to me. Got a weird automated message saying it was from the "bank security team" about some dodgy transactions and to press 1 or 2 to sort it out. I blocked the number straight away.

I got a call from a Dominic Savage after I applied for a beginner I.T role, and I flunked this ridiculous test - which definitely had weird spelling mistakes and felt pretty sloppy. The next day, they rang to say I failed but could be shortlisted if I finished a comptia A+ course through some online programme they offered for a "discounted" rate, which was still a hefty £395. Honestly, it felt like they’re targeting desperate job hunters wanting to improve, and I reckon this Dominic guy isn’t really a recruiter but just trying to sell this ITonlinelearning[###] stuff.

I put in for a junior IT position based in Liverpool and ended up getting an online test to complete (pretty tough if you’re not really into IT). I didn’t pass, scored around 60%. Then this bloke called Dominic got in touch to chat more, but turns out he was actually trying to push me into buying some sort of online IT training. Only after that, he said they might think about giving me an interview with some major firm, but he refused to say which one. Honestly, steer well clear!

I applied for a junior IT position in Liverpool and was given an online test (not too bad unless you’re totally new to IT). I scored 60 percent and failed. Then a bloke called Dominic rang me to chat more, but turns out he was just trying to get me to buy some online IT course. He said only after that, I might get a chance for an interview with some 'big' company, but he wouldn’t say which one. Honestly, steer clear of this lot!

Someone called me from ITOL - Dominic was his name. I took their online test and scored 94%, which I thought was pretty good. I called Dominic back and he told me a colleague would get in touch, but no one ever did. I was really hopeful since it seemed like a way into ITOL, but now I’m just waiting for that call that never came. Feels a bit dodgy, so thinking if it’s a scam or what? 01795412695

Got a call about a job, they said I had to do a test first. I did it and passed, then asked for the job details like you normally would. The lady said, "Oh we don't usually give those out, but I guess I can put one together if you want." I said fine, but then I never heard back from them again.

I had a chat with a guy about my CV and after about 10 minutes, all he did was ask why I’d been unemployed and quiz me on IT stuff like CompTIA. Then he even asked about my marital status, which was a bit odd. I told him if there’s no job in IT support available, I’m not interested in carrying on the talk. Definitely blocking this number now.

On a different note, while he may lack hands-on experience, he possesses a wealth of theoretical knowledge that enables him to start strong. For a hectic manager, hiring him is an absolute no-brainer. Now, what steps should you take after securing those all-important certifications? First and foremost, ensure your CV is top-notch and radiates your enthusiasm for IT. It’s vital to customize your CV specifically for a role in the tech sector; a run-of-the-mill CV that seeks any available position simply won't suffice in today's fiercely competitive IT landscape. So to all those frustrated individuals struggling to land a role in IT, exercise a bit of common sense and invest in your own development! Remember, IT is not merely a job; it's a career path!

ITOL recruitment: They phoned me pretending to be recruiters with a fantastic job offer, saying they’d pass my CV onto some company. Then the next day, they ring back saying the company wants to hire me but I need a special certification first. Of course, they sell this pricey certification! Don’t bother answering. They get you excited about the job but it’s just a complete con.

What a classic case of a job scam! At first, I received a phone call where they claimed they had gone through my CV, inquiring if I was still in the market for a position as an IT Engineer or something along those lines. It all seemed promising. Then, on the following day, I got another call saying that a potential employer found my CV appealing but needed me to acquire a certification beforehand. They suggested something quite rudimentary like CompTIA A+, and quite conveniently, they had just the online training provider in mind. The cost? A cool £699 plus the exam fees. Naturally, I decided to do a bit of digging, and it turns out the so-called “recruitment agency” is merely a dodgy website at http://itol-recruitment.com/, which is actually a front for the training company ITonlinelearning.com. Absolute nonsense!
