I received a rather alarming call supposedly from "HM Revenue and Customs,” warning me about an alleged tax fraud case linked to my name. They insisted I should "press 1" right away or face the prospect of having the police knocking on my door. Naturally, I found it quite entertaining, so I pressed the button. A chap on the other end claimed to be with HMRC. I thought it was rather amusing to ask if he could provide any details, including a case number. To my surprise, he just hung up. Quite the dodgy operation, wouldn't you say?
