6 yearsI received a rather dubious call earlier, where the person on the other end claimed to be from my internet service provider - oddly managed to get the company name spot on, which was surprising! They insisted it was a ‘security call’ and mentioned numerous files supposedly blocking my router. I queried what was happening, but when I expressed my suspicion that this could be a scam and told him not to ring me again, he became defensive. He offered to prove he wasn’t a fraudster by providing my account’s licence number, but I rightly pointed out that if he was indeed from the company, he should have that information readily available. No way was I going to log onto my computer for him! I pressed him on how the company intended to rectify this supposed issue, and that’s when he abruptly ended the call.
