About three months back these lot rang me up, and just recently they've done it again. They cold-called asking to speak with "the IT Department" and were trying to find out what my intentions were for buying any new desktops, laptops, or servers this year. My phone just rings and when I pick up, there’s nothing but silence. After reading some other reviews, I figured out it’s Hewlett Packard calling. Something useful about working at this company is you can find out stuff like this... That number you asked about is actually a VoIP "switch" based in Swindon, which acts as a bridge between HP’s internal phone network and the outside world. Whenever someone at HP makes an external call, it goes through one of these switches. I’ve been receiving a barrage of calls from 0179379300, and bizarrely, there’s never a voicemail left. It appears to be linked to HP, yet after looking into it on our end, I can’t locate this number at all in our records. It’s quite frustrating, to say the least! On the 17th of September in 2010, we received a call from this number. It turned out to be a missed call. When we tried to return the call, we were greeted by a pre-recorded message in an American accent asking us to input an "agent's number." Quite perplexing, really! It’s all rather baffling since I’m just a construction worker and haven’t got a clue about what this might pertain to.
