They said they were from First Call and worked with UK insurers regarding a non-fault claim of mine. They already had my name, address and mobile number but got a bit funny when I asked who they were, why they were ringing and why it wasn’t my own insurance company calling. I told them to send me something in writing explaining everything and I’d get back to them once I knew more about their firm. The guy said it’d just be a couple of quick questions and promised no further calls. I asked if that meant no calls from them or anyone else about non-fault claims and he said just their firm. We got to the first question, which was “Can you explain how the accident happened in your own words?” I said that’s odd since they already had my file, why ask that? Eventually he said he’d have his manager send an email, so I gave him my email address because he seemed keen to end the call!

Like I said before, I tried calling back since it looked local, but the number just wouldn’t connect. Looks like some pointless cold caller messing about, even ringing mobiles. What a waste of time!

I picked up but they just ended the call straight away. Sounds like it was either some scam or someone trying to push solar panel sales, most likely.

Had a call from a local number, but when I tried ringing back it said the number wasn't valid! Seems like one of those dodgy scam or spoof calls to me.

I reckon it's one of those dodgy legal firms chasing accident claims. They spoof a number that looks like it's nearby just to get you to pick up. Bet they've got loads of numbers like that causing the same trick everywhere.

Got two calls from this number, 01793, which is local to me so I figured it might be someone I know. But when I dialled back, all I got was a voice saying no one was available to answer. Seems to me it’s just a pointless nuisance call.
