Someone on the other end claimed to be absolutely from BT. I was quite sceptical about it, but she provided the number 0800400400 for me to verify. According to her, BT has countless numbers, and she insisted that I could only converse with her if I rang her at 01793593042.

I received a rather dubious call from a gentleman named Peter, who claimed to represent BT. He was incredibly insistent, urging me to renew my contract with them, but I found his whole demeanour rather unconvincing. When I asked for his contact number so I could ring him back, he provided me with 01793593042, insisting he was indeed Peter. However, upon dialling 1471 to verify, I was met with the number 08003289937, which is in no way affiliated with BT. This is undeniably a scam! I strongly advise everyone to scrutinise the identity of callers before making any decisions.
