Initially presented themselves as representing Three, but then it swiftly morphed into a different firm touting Three-related deals. They also mentioned being located in Berkshire, yet the contact number actually traces back to Swindon in Wiltshire. Clearly a scam operation.

I received a call supposedly from O2, stating there were problems with their SIM cards and that they were sending replacements to every customer. They also mentioned a tempting 30% discount on my tariff. However, they asked for my email and insisted that I remain on the line while I supposedly accessed their email. After I hung up, they didn’t take the hint and called me back another couple of times, trying to get through to me again!

I received a call from someone claiming my O2 SIM card was set to be cancelled because of some alleged connectivity issues. They said they'd send a replacement SIM and mentioned something about a 30% discount. I decided to hang up on them, but then they tried ringing me again. I received a call claiming to be from 3pay mobile, but once I hung up, a message popped up from Three UK warning me that it was a scam. I received a rather suspicious call purporting to be from O2, with a rather persistent lady on the other end, who had a strong Indian accent and wouldn’t relent when I said I wasn't interested. It felt like a call centre operating from overseas, yet the number appeared to be an English landline. I’ve got a feeling this is a scam, especially since I don’t even use O2! If you happen to get a call from this number, I’d strongly advise you to ignore it and block them. Stay vigilant out there!

Got a call from this number earlier, some Indian woman who said she was from EE. She goes, “I’m calling to offer you a 36 month deal.” Thing is, I’m already tied into a 24 month contract with EE for both my phone and watch. Not this time, mate!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Three, saying they could lower my monthly charges. They kept pushing for how much I pay, so I told them if they’re really from Three, they should already have that info. DON'T FALL FOR IT. Blocking won't do much since scammers use loads of fake numbers generated by computers, callin people from all over the globe. The best thing you can do is report them. If you get scam emails, send them to ‘[email protected]’. For dodgy texts or silent calls, forward them to ‘7726’. You can also text details of these scams there. There’re some good shows on BBC 1 and Channel 5 about this stuff, watchable on iPlayer and My5. Stay safe! Anon13
