This bloke said he was calling on behalf of BT and that there had been some kind of security breach on my phone line. He went on about how he’d have to disconnect it, which sounded daft to me. When he started to spout some strange reference numbers, I just told him to jog on.

Had a similar thing happen to me, some bloke saying he’s from BT tech support or something like that. I told him I’d just ring BT myself to check what’s going on and he hung up straight away.

Got a call about my internet but kept telling them I don’t use BT, like half a dozen times, but they just kept going on about being the biggest internet provider in London. I live way out in Devon! Then, out of nowhere, they just ended the call.

Wow, that guy just wouldn’t give up, real stubborn and pushy. I told him I’m a technophobe - no internet or computer at all. Even said I cook by candlelight! He kept going though, using the same kinda aggressive tone people here have mentioned. Proper annoying.

somebody called claiming to be from bt and said i was sending out a virus!!! i told them i work in tech and asked them to prove it by giving me my ip address. instead, she just read out my phone number! then i called her a fibber and ended the call. complete muppets!

Seems like this one's going around today, 24/08/2017. He kept saying we’ve got broadband issues, but we don’t. We hung up on him twice, and he only called back after the first time.

These calls really scare older folks. If they aren’t confident with technology, they can get tricked into hacking scams with ease. Seriously, something has to be done to put an end to these cold-hearted scammers.

Just like the others, this one claimed to be from BT saying my internet wasn’t secure. Honestly, what a joke. I was kinda hoping they’d get a bit more creative with their scams by now, but nope, still the same old nonsense. Really makes you wonder if they even try anymore!

Got a call earlier from some bloke saying he was with BT, going on about my computer - like I’d fall for that! He had an Asian accent too, but I couldn’t really catch what he was saying. I just left the phone on the table and walked away, leaving it on. After a while, he gave up and hung up. What a muppet!

What a dodgy nuisance!
I received a call from this number earlier today. It was an Asian woman claiming to be representing BT, who then began prattling on about issues with my computer. I didn’t let her carry on and told her outright that she ought to be behind bars for attempting to con unsuspecting folks. She promptly ended the call.
