I think this might be some sort of scam, maybe even phishing or something more serious. Definitely feels dodgy.

Just had a dodgy call claiming to be from BT; seems like my IP address has been hacked. The bloke on the other end had an Indian lilt, but he articulated himself rather well. He wanted me to verify both my "public and private" IP addresses. Honestly, I reckon I should have suggested he put his skills to better use in a legitimate job instead!

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT - said my IP address was hacked or something like that. The caller spoke English with a neat Indian accent, walked me through how to find my public and private IP addresses. Told them they should find a proper job instead of scaring people like this.
