Absolutely. We encountered a call from this number earlier today, but unfortunately, we didn't stay on the line long enough to catch what they were trying to sell or discuss.

I’m wondering if anyone has come across a call for assistance regarding a young lad from Wiltshire, aged about five. It seems there’s a campaign underway, likely aimed at gathering funds for a noble cause related to him. Any insights or updates on this would be appreciated!

It appears that someone has been rummaging through the phone directory in an attempt to gather funds for a five-year-old lad from Wiltshire by distributing raffle tickets. We’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service and had taken our details off the directory ages ago. Yet, lo and behold, we discovered that our information is still lurking in the 2008 BT phone book! To be honest, we preferred to avoid being listed for just this sort of thing!

My mother received a call from this number earlier today, and as someone who is currently recovering from cancer, it really rattled her. These unsolicited calls can be quite bothersome and often come across as scams. Surely, there are more considerate ways to fundraise than resorting to cold calling? It’s quite disheartening, to say the least.

Earlier today, we received a call from this number. We’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service as well. I noticed Ian mentioned that they don’t need a local authority licence for her raffle under the Gambling Act of 2005, which is a misconception. The very essence of licensing is to protect individuals from being defrauded and cheated. Why does she assume she’s above the law simply because she believes she’s engaging in some sort of “charitable activities”? Adhering to the regulations wouldn’t have been difficult at all.

I received a call from this number as well. Authentic or otherwise, it seems these individuals aren't listed as a recognised charity. Approaching people for donations through unsolicited phone calls strikes me as a rather poor strategy for any charity, no matter how sincere the intentions may be.

It seems you've assumed that I've consistently brought in £50,000 each month for the entire year, but that's not the case. As for Cancer Research UK? A glance at their financial statements reveals that under 4% of their budget went towards children's cancer initiatives. Bobby didn't require treatment in the States because I implemented a comprehensive strategy myself. I shan't be returning to this site again, so to all of you who are always grumbling, I suggest you move along.

We've recently received a call from this number (01793 238603) this evening. If it’s in aid of a charity, it certainly doesn’t seem urgent, as there was no message left on our answering machine for anyone to return a call, nor was there a suggestion to visit a proper website for making donations.

I've recently discovered that her modest business employs over a hundred people, all of whom are making soliciting phone calls. Just another example of someone cashing in on charity!

Blimey! Just had a gander at this. We were only just looking up a missed call and here we find ourselves. Let’s just say, the tales I'm coming across aren’t sitting well with me. These folks have really managed to make themselves seem dodgy! Cheers, Ralf! If we get another call like that, we might just pay them a little visit in person!

As a family member of Callum, I must express my astonishment at the situation we find ourselves in. Countless phone calls have been made on Callum's behalf, yet only one person, Sarah, has taken it upon herself to bring this up with the TPS. It seems rather misguided, to say the least, and frankly, we think it's about time she re-evaluated her priorities instead of trying to thwart Callum from getting the support he desperately requires. The fact is there aren’t any other treatment options available for him in the UK, and without these funds, his future is in jeopardy. Sarah, maybe you should consider channeling your energy into something more constructive. Do you really think your complaints are going to stop us from our fundraising efforts? Absolutely not!

I just picked up the phone, looked up the number, and stumbled upon this site. I've gone ahead and lodged a complaint with the Telephone Preference Service.

Received an unexpected call at 8 in the evening on the first of August - a Friday, if I recall correctly. The caller introduced himself as 'Ian from Exeter' and seemed rather keen on verifying both our name and address. We played a bit coy with our responses, which likely frustrated him, and eventually, he hung up. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

I can relate; I encountered a rather dubious call myself. I looked into it on the site and noticed there was neither a charity registration number nor a lottery licence mentioned - which you definitely need if you're running a raffle. This raises red flags for me, I must admit. I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which is supposed to strike a balance between allowing others to reach me and dodging the sales calls I have no interest in. If this was indeed a legitimate fundraising effort, it’s concerning that they chose to misuse the TPS information.

We received a call from this number, yet the caller didn’t leave any message on our answering machine. Intrigued, we looked up the number and found this site. However, after perusing the discussions here, my initial compassion for the situation has dwindled significantly. We’re on the ex-directory list and also signed up with the Telephone Preference Service. I must say, some of the remarks here seem rather uncalled for, and whether heartfelt or not, it feels a bit like a scam to us. I can already imagine someone telling me to "get a life" in response! Oh well!

Earlier today, we received a call from Callum Appeal. Although my number is listed in the phonebook, it is registered with the Telephone Preference Service. I'm quite pleased with the amount of charitable support we provide, so we made it clear to them that we did not wish to receive further calls.
