01792949485 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01792949485 πŸ‘† is reported as a persistent and widespread debt-related scam originating from call centres, often with callers speaking in Indian accents and claiming affiliation to organisations such as Citizens Advice or UK Debt Services. Callers typically assert the recipient owes unpaid debts, pressuring without providing clear details and hanging up when challenged. Many recipients are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), yet calls persist, causing considerable distress, particularly to vulnerable individuals. The number is frequently associated with poor call quality and misleading local dialling codes. Users are advised not to engage or provide personal information, to reject unexpected calls regarding debts, and to block the number promptly. Official bodies do not make unsolicited calls about debts, so vigilance and caution are paramount.

Received a call claiming they could assist me with my financial obligations, which I don't actually have. When I inquired further about their identity, they stated they were from UK Advice Services. I decided to hang up. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

Just to add on to my previous thoughts - the advert mentioned something along the lines of: “If you want to create a local feel in Swansea, getting a 01792 phone number through The VoIP Shop is ideal. A VoIP number lets your business seem local, even without an actual office in Swansea.” Honestly, this feels a bit misleading to me. Who’d trust a business that acts like it’s based somewhere it’s not? It’s quite baffling that BT or even the government don’t clamp down on this sort of number usage.

I got a call from this number on my home phone, which I didn't recognise. The signal was awful - possibly something about solar panels? The voice came through all muffled, like underwater or something. I told them to ring me back, but no luck hearing back from them. Maybe they had trouble hearing me as well. Since it didn't seem urgent, I wasn’t bothered. The area code is for Swansea, but the only folks that usually ring me from there are the DVLA. Then I noticed an ad for a VoIP company.

I received a call directed to my wife from my own number, and they mentioned she had some outstanding debts. The moment I probed for more details, they abruptly ended the call. It's clearly a scam.

Got a call from someone called 'Harry', sounded like he had an accent, maybe not even from here. He said he was ringing from Citizens Advice and claimed I owe money, said he was here to help sort it out. Thing is, I don't owe a penny! When I asked him where he was calling from, he just cut me off. Seems like a dodgy scam to be careful of.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau, sounded like they were Indian or from that area. They asked straight away for me by name, which was odd. I asked who I was speaking to but didn’t catch the name properly. I just said I wasn’t interested and hung up. Thinking back, three red flags pop up: how did he already know my name? Also, what’s the chance a person of Indian descent is really calling officially for CAB? And most importantly, I’m pretty sure CAB wouldn’t ring you unexpectedly for no good reason.

This was a total scam, no doubt about it. Someone rang up looking for my son who hasn’t lived here in years, claiming he had some debts. I know for sure he doesn’t owe anything. When I asked what kind of debts, they just said it was likely something like catalogue bills or loans but couldn’t give any details. Definitely dodgy!

I just got a call from a lady with an Indian accent who claimed she represented a UK advice service about a debt. She even knew my name and number. I told her I don’t owe anything, but she pressed, asking if I was really sure about credit cards and such. I replied that she should know since she was the one to call me. Then I raised my voice, saying this must be a scam. She ended the call straight away. If you’re suspicious, just hang up, look up the number yourself, and talk to your family before doing anything.

I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming I owed a debt. When I asked what debt, she replied I should know since it’s mine. Pressed for details, she just threw out things like credit card, catalogue, or loan. I told her if she’s chasing a debt she must know exactly what it is, but she said she only had my name and number. I then asked which company gave her my details, and suddenly she cut the call. Definitely seemed like a trick to grab my card info. She’s got a long way to go if she thinks she can con me.
