Phone number ☎️ 01792917768 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance caller often linked to alleged water bill rebates, energy savings, and home improvement schemes. Many complainants highlight aggressive sales tactics, misleading claims about affiliation with Welsh Water, and demands for upfront fees which some deem excessive or fraudulent. Despite some positive accounts of refunds and government funding facilitation, scepticism remains high due to repeated breaches of Telephone Preference Service rules, rude behaviour when questioned, and failure to provide clear company identification. Several users caution vulnerable individuals, especially the elderly, to exercise extreme caution and advise contacting official providers directly to avoid potential scams. Authorities have been alerted, and potential customers are advised to thoroughly research and remain vigilant before engaging.

Somebody rang me up saying they wanted to check on my life insurance policy with them, but I don’t even have one with that company. Then they started talking about my mortgage, which is odd because my home is fully paid off. After that, they began asking about my family. I just told them to get lost.

Fell for that "greenstreak" scam, thought it was a friendly Welsh woman on the line. Hard to believe someone from Wales would try something like this. Just like those other calls about cutting down water bills and claiming cash back on electricity. Foolish me handed over £49 upfront. Definitely won’t be doing that ever again. Got a call from these people claiming I owed a rebate on my water charges. I explained that since my rainwater drains straight into the main sewer and not soakaways, there’s no rebate coming my way. The guy just said maybe they had wrong details, but honestly, I reckon they’re just trying to hook people in. What really winds me up is how they ignore TPS rules - I’ll be making a complaint about that. If your rainwater does soak away into the ground, then you might be entitled to a bill discount, but just check with your water provider directly. No need to hand over cash to some third party for this. - caller: Green Streak

Just got a call from this number, and they had a Welsh accent too, like me! They said they were from Greenstreak and wanted to offer a refund for an overcharge. I told them I’ve never dealt with them before and wouldn’t be giving any info on the phone - asked them to send something in writing instead. We hung up after that, all polite enough. The caller mentioned something about "eco funding" and said Greenstreak’s been around for three years. Had a look on their website later on, and there’s a fee of just under £300 for their service that claims to save money. Sounds a bit fishy to me. Also, how did they get my number? I’m on the official list to block spam calls! The caller ID said: Green Streak.

In response to O JONES, We’ve never asked for payment specifically for a "Boiler." What we offer is a home assessment which can sometimes involve ECO funding. Our fees have always been capped at £299.99, so I’m quite confused about where those figures of £750 and £475 come from. I can assure you, it wasn’t us - Green Streak wouldn’t charge that much. - caller: gs

I received a call claiming I was eligible for a £100 discount on my water bill. Strangely, she failed to provide her name or inquire who owned the property. When I pressed her twice for her identity, she became quite irked and mentioned she was from Green Street, representing Welsh Water. The peculiar thing is, I neither reside in Wales nor am I a customer of theirs! Upon informing her of this, her reply was that I was overpaying for my wastewater, which includes rainwater and sewage. Quite frankly, I'm left unimpressed! Her tone was rather discourteous, bordering on rude, and the whole encounter highlighted rather poor customer service standards.

Running a website is such a hassle thanks to all the random marketing calls coming through every which way. I recently got this new phone from BT (the BT8500) and set up call guardian and true call on it. Been only a few days but already dealing with unwanted calls has become so much easier, definitely worth the spend, no matter your provider. Prior to this, I used to get loads of dodgy calls - ones starting with 000 or UK-looking numbers that seemed genuine but often had a number missing. Since putting the system on, no annoying calls at all. I just peek at missed calls and block anything suspicious. Real callers usually leave their name anyway. Sorted, as they say! That annoying number is firmly blocked now.

This morning, I received a rather curious call from a company going by the name of Green Streak. A woman named Charmayne had the audacity to greet me by name and even mentioned my address, claiming I was eligible for a refund of at least £100 from Welsh Water. She provided a phone number, 08438865512, for me to call. When I probed her about the nature of her company, she stated that Green Streak was involved in some government initiative aimed at assisting elderly folks in securing better deals. Then she handed the call over to her 'manager', who had quite the sales pitch up his sleeve. He assured me that I could receive all new replacement windows, radiators, and even free solar panels - but only after I forked out £299.99 for what he termed an 'independent survey'. Naturally, I didn’t entertain the idea. When I mentioned that I wished to verify their company online, he abruptly hung up on me. Quite the experience, I must say!

I received a telephone call from a lady claiming to represent Green Street concerning my water supply. When I asked for clarification, expressing my confusion, she abruptly ended the conversation. Following this, I contacted Welsh Water to report the incident, only to learn that it was indeed a scam, with Green Street being merely one of the aliases being utilised. The caller had the audacity to address me by name, but I refrained from disclosing any personal information and continued to demand her identity, to which she finally responded with her initial claim. Welsh Water confirmed that this is part of a broader scam aimed primarily at the elderly, which I find particularly disconcerting as I’m 75 and certainly not naïve!

To everyone who’s posting here, if you had a look at our website, you’d see it clearly says you can actually do this yourself without paying a penny. We’ve never claimed otherwise. But statistics say that roughly 70% of people in the UK have never switched their energy providers. Did you even know about surface water charge refunds before our call? Have you tried asking your water supplier to refund you? We don’t stop at just water, we check all your household bills - gas, electricity, water, car insurance, home insurance, life insurance and more. Also, if you get certain benefits or credits, have you heard of Welsh Water’s ‘WATER SURE’ scheme? Probably not, unless you specifically ask. It caps your bills at £262. Yes, Welsh Water calls us a scam, but if you check our site, we have letters from them confirming refunds after we’ve helped customers. We also offer Energy Performance Certificates, and if you’re eligible, there are schemes for free home improvements. We understand people might moan, it comes with the turf, but do a bit of homework before moaning, yeah? - caller: green streak

Got a suspicious phone call that seemed to come from some call centre in Swansea. They called themselves something like GreenStreet or maybe GreanStreak, but their speech was all muffled and hard to make out. I contacted my water company and was warned not to give away any info. Welsh Water, or Dwr Cymru, told me these companies try to charge for info that's actually free if you just ask your own water, gas or electric supplier. So watch out for these calls from places like GreenStreet or GreenStreak - it’s probably a scam.

Got a bloke on the phone with a Welsh accent who was really rude, telling me I was being cheeky just for asking questions. I just wanted to know if it was a scam! He said I was paying way too much for water. After looking into it, turns out it was only partly true - guess some folks might claim money back, but not me. My advice? Stay calm and just end the call.

I'm not shocked that Green Streak doesn't have a Facebook page - they'd probably be buried under a mountain of complaints if they did. Yet, people still chat about the dodgy things they get up to. What's the deal with this sudden popping out from the shadows all of a sudden? Also, I saw you took those accreditations off your website - funny how they seemed a bit... misused. Please don't tell me you've had some sort of change of heart and decided to play it straight, because frankly, that sounds a bit too far-fetched. My guess? Grab the cash, close up shop, and run. By the way, your promise to 'put your number on the TPS register to block unwanted calls' still gives me a right chuckle. Honestly, "Oh Muriel, you’re a proper laugh."

My wife got a call from Green Streak offering discounted deals on water, electricity, boilers and such. They asked for £299 in advance but said it’d be refundable after about 4 to 8 weeks. She gave them her card info back in Feb this year, but since then, not a peep. No updates, no contact, nothing at all. Oh, how amusing! I can't help but ponder whether your other half ever glances at the reverse side of the water bill. You know, where it explicitly mentions, somewhere around page four, that individuals might actually qualify for a discount on their bill concerning surface water if it’s not channeled into the sewer system? Something along those lines, if memory serves me right. It strikes me as a tad implausible that they would simply hang up on that. Honestly, folks, do take a peek at the back of your statements; I recently bagged a refund of a hundred quid that way!

For the last couple of years, I've been inundated with calls from this so-called "company." Every time they ring, I promptly add their number to the block list on my Truecall device. If they’re genuine and not up to no good, then what’s with all the number changes over the past two years? It's kinda suspicious how the two recent posts came up on the same day. Feels like someone's just trying to cause trouble, maybe an angry ex-worker or just someone with too much time on their hands. Hey Carol, just so you know, no matter what, there's always a fee involved. To access any funding for improving your home's energy efficiency, you need to get a certificate first, and that normally sets you back about £200-£300 wherever you go. I found that out after looking into it myself.

Ensure your father’s registered with the Telephone Preference Service to minimise those pesky nuisance calls. I’ve come across a few call centres that flout the rules, so there’s still a possibility he might receive unsolicited calls. It's vital to keep him informed about steering clear of dodgy firms. You certainly had a stroke of luck engaging with a reputable call centre-thank goodness for that! Stay vigilant, folks!

They charge a fortune and still don't promise you'll get anywhere. I’m always suspicious of those cold calls. Honestly, it’s cheaper to just look into EPCs on your own. There’s plenty of free info out there, and you can always ring the Citizens Advice Bureau instead of coughing up cash. - caller: swansea green streak

Last week, my father received a rather dodgy phone call. He unknowingly ended up sharing his card details and was charged £299.99. I'm still a bit puzzled about what exactly these people were offering, but it appeared to involve his bills in some way. Naturally, I wasn't pleased that they’d taken his information, so I promptly phoned them up, cancelled the whole affair, and managed to get a full refund for him.

Payment required for claims. I have my doubts about the positive reviews, as they appear to be promotional ploys, echoing similar sentiments across various platforms.

Caller said it was Green Streak. Wanted me to pay to claim something. Total scam, watch out!

I was presented with the chance to recover £250 due to the issue of grey water being discharged into the sewage system. Quite the unexpected turn of events regarding our water charges!

If your household makes under £15k, you might be eligible for a free boiler, which is a real help if you're looking to buy a house. Nice one!

Maybe try looking into it a bit more before you try to argue your case.

A few weeks back I chatted with this firm because I was sorting out selling my house and needed an energy performance certificate. They came round and did everything for me, and on top of that, I've managed to secure some funding for a free boiler for my new place. Usually, folks on these sites only post negative stuff, but I felt like sharing something positive since this company really helped me out.

A comment from Paul.W states, "Not every business is a fraudster." Absolutely right! Not every firm resorts to frequenting online platforms to hawk their wares. However, it would be splendid if they could refrain from using the lowercase 'i' in place of 'I' and eschewing colloquialisms such as 'rung' and 'legit' in their advertisements.

So these guys called me the other day and at first I wasn’t really interested, decided to ignore it. But then I read loads of positive stuff about them online, so I gave them a ring back to see what they were about. I’m planning to share my honest opinion once I see how things go. Been checking out some forums too, and I’ll update my thoughts here for everyone. - caller: Green Streak Energy.

Oh, and could you maybe add a note about Utilities Cost savers and Residential Redress too? They're both under the same director at Green Streak. Kinda makes you think, right? Definitely not like that catchy 'New York New York' tune, where they repeat the name cause it's that great. Nope, here it's kinda like thrice repeated but not in a good way. Caller claims it's Green Streak behind it all.

This caller from Swansea sure was pushy, and they made a solid argument about needing a landline ‘Phone number’. They were quite crafty, dodging giving out their number but didn’t want to share their landline address either. Totally ignored the TPS register too. Got pretty rude when I questioned them. Sounded like they were from some workers advice line, maybe something about hearing loss at work or similar - caller ID showed Green Streak.

TPS Breach. Seems a bit dodgy that this company, barely a month old, is suddenly getting rave reviews. It’s quite probable they’re raking in cash by helping folks with forms-think along the lines of PPI claims, accident compensation, or even passport applications. Honestly, you’d be better off tackling it on your own!

I got some refunds for gas, electric, and a rebate from Welsh Water through these guys. They also sorted out an EPC for me and fitted a new boiler, which I really needed. They do charge a fee, but since I claimed government funding for making my home more energy efficient, they gave that fee back to me. At first, I thought it was pricey, but honestly, I’ve got more money back than I spent, so it’s all good. Can’t complain at all. - caller: Green Streak Energy Swansea

Had a look at some other forums about that phone number and saw lots of good reviews saying how brilliant it is, all posted around late Feb 2015. Funny thing is, the company was only set up at the start of 2015, so they must be doing something quite special. Anyway, you can always decide for yourself, no magic here. - caller: Green Streak

Hey Carl, quick question for you. You mentioned you got your cash back from them, but have you really received the full amount yet? They told me I’d get a full refund once my windows and stuff are installed, so I’m just wondering if you actually got all of yours back like they promised. Cheers, David.

I received a call to arrange an Energy Performance Certificate and a thorough home assessment. After completing it, I’m thrilled to say I’ve qualified for the Water Assist programme! My annual water bill, which used to be a whopping £490, has now plummeted to just £256. On top of that, I’ve had cavity wall insulation installed and a brand-new boiler fitted, all at no cost to me. What a fantastic outcome - I’m absolutely chuffed! Cheers!

BE CAREFUL. I got a call from someone claiming to be Green Streak... they told me I could get a refund on my water charges. When I asked why Welsh Water hadn't got in touch, they said it’s because they’re short staffed. I said I’d speak to Welsh Water about it, then they just hung up on me. Never share your info on the phone - the number was 01792 917768.

I answered the phone thinking it might be someone local since it had a Swansea area code, but surprise, surprise - there was no one on the line! Yet another bloomin' nuisance call. Honestly, even though we've registered with the Telephone Preference Service, those pesky calls keep coming from UK numbers. What a right pain!

Had a bloke with a Welsh accent ring up, claiming to be from Green Streak and offering a rebate on my water charges. I just thanked him and told him I’d sort it directly with Welsh Water myself.

I don't usually engage in phone transactions (my grandson has strict rules about that), but I must admit, the chap on the other end was incredibly convincing and made me quite comfortable about sharing my information, despite the £299 fee. He went on about how he was calling from a BT registered landline and that it was somehow "traceable," and whilst I was hesitant, there was something about his tone that felt sincere. In hindsight, I’m rather pleased I went ahead with it because just this week, I received a £70 cheque from Dwr Cymru and £639 from Swalec! They've genuinely helped me save some funds, and I even obtained a certificate for government funding which they assured me I could use, promising I'd reclaim my admin costs. Initially, I was rather doubtful, thinking it might be a ruse, yet they've been absolutely reliable, always available on the phone when I needed assistance. I can now say I wholeheartedly recommend Green Streak Energy!

I recently received a call from a company that claimed they could assist me in reclaiming funds from both the water and electricity providers. They also mentioned a potential avenue for obtaining government grants aimed at improving energy efficiency in my home. Naturally, I took the time to do my homework online prior to giving any sort of consent, and to my surprise, their information seemed to check out - it’s all readily accessible in the public sphere. It's worth noting that not every business operating out there is up to no good; with a bit of patience and a thorough investigation, you can uncover quite a bit of legitimate help available.
