They keep ringing me even though they claimed it was only their second attempt. I've told them loads of times to take my number off their list, but no one seems to have followed through. At first, when I asked who was calling, they didn’t want to say, saying it was a sensitive matter. After pushing a bit more, they finally mentioned "The Advisor Network" and told me to just look them up instead of properly explaining what they do. When I asked again, they gave me some canned spiel about being an insurance comparison company and then abruptly hung up, muttering "Jesus" as they went.

Totally unprofessional and clearly using some sketchy way to get hold of phone numbers.

I got a call from a company called The Advisory Network, claiming they wanted to chat about my life insurance. It felt like a sales pitch to me. When I told them I wasn’t interested and asked to be taken off their list, they just cut me off saying “ok then goodbye” while I was still talking. Honestly, it came across as pretty unprofessional.

The number 01792721160 gave me a ring, claiming they were from some insurance regulator and needed me to update my policy because of legal changes. Thing is, I ain't got any insurance policy at all. So, I just went along with it out of curiosity to see their game. They set up a time to ring back, and if you miss it, they try calling from another number. They keep pressing for all your policy information, which is quite dodgy.

I got a call from a number that I had already looked into before. When I spoke to the person on the line this time, I told him I’d checked the number his mate had called from earlier, and it showed up as suspicious. I also rang Sun Life insurance to see if they knew anything about calls like this, but they said they weren’t involved. Then, when I phoned the earlier number back, it turned out it wasn’t even a valid number anymore. The guy said he’d investigate and then just ended the call.
