Got a call on my landline from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Virgin Media doing an internet speed check. I kept chatting with him for about six minutes, then told him I’m not even with Virgin and asked why he was trying to scam me. He instantly flipped out, started swearing and said he’d ring me “every day, every bloody day” to bother me. When I dialed 1471 to check the number, I couldn’t believe it was actually from Swansea, not India like I expected.

She called me on my landline, sounded like she had quite a strong accent and already knew my name. Asked if I had a computer, I said no. Then wanted to know what brand my mobile was. When I didn’t want to answer, she got a bit annoyed and just suddenly hung up.
