I got a call from 01792 496941, supposedly from HSBC. The person sounded really legit at first, and I decided to humour them since I've never even had an account with HSBC. Weirdly, the number appeared on my iPhone like it was legit. They asked for my date of birth and online banking username. When I gave my DOB, they didn’t buy it and asked for my login info. I said I didn’t have it handy. Things started to get tense, with them threatening that someone might drain my funds. I told them to freeze my account right away, and then they just hung up on me. Definitely a scam, so watch out and stay alert. They sound pretty convincing but don’t fall for it.

I rang them back to find out who had tried to get in touch, and they confirmed it was indeed them. However, they were rather vague and didn't offer any further details. Ended up costing me £1.45 just to uncover the fact that it was a scam!
