Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin, telling me my internet was running slowly because hackers had targeted me. They asked for my phone number to ring me back, but I ended the call right away.

this mornin I got a call from this number claiming they were virgin media. they said they were receivin messages from my computer and hinted that my router password might be at risk. the guy’s accent was a bit hard to understand so I didn’t really catch what he meant. he asked if I was close to my router (which I wasn’t) and then if I had a smart phone. when I asked how I could tell if this was a scam or real, the call just dropped straight away! so yeah, I reckon it was a scam.
