Its quite something looking through the comments here. Some make sense, but others are just plain paranoid like that one who believes scammers are trying to get them to say “YES” just so they can open accounts in their name! Seriously? Chill out a bit. Also, automated call systems ring multiple phones at the same time, and when one picks up, they hang up the others. That’s why some might be getting silent calls. Honestly, take it easy and just politely decline.

Definitely sounds like Unite the Union to me. I’m a member myself and I've had calls from them in the past. If you don’t want any more, just ring the union and ask them to stop. They really should only be ringing if you’re actually a member, to be honest.

Unite Union - I joined them ages ago but honestly felt they weren’t bothered about helping me at all, especially about sorting things out properly when I was registered disabled and got TUPE’d. Part 4 - 5 Now even government health and safety checks on companies (especially dodgy workplaces) have been altered so the business is billed about £124 for every hour an inspector spends - despite inspectors already being paid by the government. It’s like an extra fee on top! This kind of thing puts workers off from raising complaints since the business ends up with more charges - even if the place is total rubbish! Yeah, these calls can be a pain but at least they come from folks who don’t want us going back to being treated like British peasants again.

Part 3 - 4 So many folks have been tricked politically and by the media into handing over their own working class rights to legal aid - all because politicians said we gotta crack down on illegal p******s abusing the system. Then, bam, they ripped away legal aid from pretty much every working class person in the UK! All the parties are to blame, they all back this stuff inside the house of commons. And honestly, the public shares the blame too, since they voted for these changes and now have to deal with the fallout.

Like, if you go blind they give you £600, lose both arms or legs max claim is £6,000. D#### £6,000, it’s not really worth the hassle.

Unite Swansea in Wales are just selling rubbish. If you need help, they tell their branch officials to not get involved with anything that might cost the union money, like taking legal action. They then use that recording to sign you up for all kinds of stuff in your name. Saying “yes” can be legally tricky in some cases, so it’s best to keep quiet and never say yes. Better safe than ending up with bills you never agreed to!
