I've had a few run-ins with rings from Equidebt in the past, but there are moments when I answer the phone and it's just silence-so frustrating! I suppose that’s par for the course with debt collection agencies, isn't it? This time, however, I made a mental note of the number and decided to look it up, which led me here. If this is some sort of ploy to get you to call them back, let’s hope folks think twice before doing so after seeing this!

This number has been ringing us incessantly, practically every other day. Generally, we don’t bother answering calls from unknown numbers, but these callers persistently try to reach us. Thinking it might be a case of mistaken identity, we picked up once but struggled to understand what they were on about, so we just said, "Apologies, I believe you've dialled the wrong number." Yet, they continue to bombard us with calls, and we’ve chosen not to respond. Is there anyone out there who can advise on how to make them stop? It’s rather unsettling, to say the least.

Absolutely, it’s definitely a debt collector. We rang that number and when they picked up, we said we wanted to settle a payment. The bloke on the other end was like, “Sure, no problem!” Ha, give it a whirl!

Received a rather unpleasant call today. The caller was rather rude and even reached out to my girlfriend's mother in an attempt to dig up some information. As soon as she inquired about their company, they abruptly hung up. When I called them back, I was greeted by some bloke who asked for our reference number, to which we kindly told him to jog on. What a farce!

Every single day, we receive calls from this number, and it seems they keep asking for someone called Daniel-presumably a rather popular name, I’d wager. What's curious, though, is that they seem to know our address, which raises a few eyebrows. The source of their information is completely unknown to us. We’ve made it crystal clear that we won’t disclose any information until they identify the company they represent. Earlier, a chap on the line cheekily claimed, “Due to the Data Protection Act, we're not able to disclose the name of our business.” Honestly, what absolute nonsense! Is there any way the authorities can step in? This feels like harassment at this point!

Received a call from this number, asking for a chap named Brian. The lady was quite polite when we told her it was the wrong number. It seems like they're phoning around different numbers, probably waiting for a lucky moment when someone called Brian eventually answers. I wouldn’t be surprised if they then started fishing for personal information. Best to stay wary of these sorts of calls!

I received a rather unwanted sales call, even though I’ve signed up with the Telephone Preference Service. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

I've come across this number quite a few times on my father's phone. I suspect it could be linked to a debt collection agency. I reckon that’s the reason why they’re so tight-lipped about revealing their company name; they wouldn’t want to disclose someone’s financial details to anyone else, would they?

Indeed, they’ve been ringing us for the past few weeks. It appears to be a debt collection agency called Equadebt, or so they claim.

Has anyone any idea about this number? My phone has been inundated with calls from it, including some rather inconvenient ones at 2am! Yet, whenever I try to return the call, I either end up with silence or an endless ringing. Once, I did manage to catch someone on the line, but they were rather unhelpful, insisting on obtaining loads of confidential details from me before they’d even divulge the name of the company. I’m on the lookout for a decent call-filtering app for Windows Mobile 6. Any recommendations?

We've also been encountering the same problem. The individuals on the other end of the line were rather intrusive in their questioning. It seems to us that these folks are trying to obtain sensitive information, likely for some form of financial wrongdoing.

We've recently looked up the number 141 017894738. It belongs to Equidebt Limited.

What I’m trying to convey is that when your finances are tight, it’s much wiser to offer a small token payment rather than completely ignoring the company you owe money to. That’s the guidance I received from customer service.

We've been receiving repeated calls regarding our son. Each time, we explain that he isn't available and that they've dialled the wrong number. After that, we hang up. It's quite frustrating, as these individuals are relentless in their attempts to reach us.

Gave them a ring today, asking about a Shawn, but it turns out they've got the wrong number. So, I'm asking them to double-check the address they used to call. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

We received an unexpected call from some folks wanting to chat using our old surname. Quite amusing really, as we've been married since September, so we simply stated that we no longer exist under that name. When we inquired about how they got hold of our number, they were rather evasive and wouldn't divulge any details. It felt rather odd and intrusive, especially since the caller seemed to know our address. I'm planning a move soon anyway, so I reckon I'll change my number as well!

If you're fed up with those incessant calls, you can easily halt them by using ring barring through BT or other phone providers. Essentially, it's a way to refuse incoming calls. Just give your phone company a quick ring for the details, and that should put an end to the annoyance!

Equidebt was the name of the company I had dealings with. They’re a debt recovery agency, and I want to stress that it's utterly illegal for any organisation to reach out to you and then withhold their name. If they continue to act in this manner, make sure to take note of it and reach out to the Financial Services Authority for assistance.

I received a call from a number that was looking for someone linked to my address. The caller ID came through as 01789 473 888, but they asked me to return their call on 01789 472 119. Quite the mix-up, I must say!

I recently received a call from someone searching for our son by name. Upon letting her know that he doesn’t reside here, I requested to know who was calling. However, she informed me that it was a private matter and refused to share any details about her organisation or company. When she asked for an alternative number to reach them, I declined and insisted that she provide her number so we could relay the message. Afterward, I took to the internet and came across this site, so a big thank you to everyone here-I’ve completely tossed her number in the rubbish!

We’ve been getting calls from this number repeatedly. Whenever we don’t answer, they occasionally leave a voicemail saying something along the lines of, “You need to ring (name) as soon as you hear this.” They’ve never mentioned the company’s name or the purpose of the call, so we’ve chosen not to return their calls. It’s all rather mysterious!

I've come across other sources indicating that this number is linked to Equidebt Ltd, a debt collection firm. Honestly, it's best to keep mum about it; the person they’re after is long gone. When it comes to minor unsecured debts, they really don’t have a leg to stand on. If you owe money due to genuine circumstances, they’d be unlikely to recover a single penny, even if they decided to pursue legal action, which they generally don’t bother with. In fact, I informed them of this six years back... Occasionally, I still receive a call when the debt collectors they pass it to grow tired of making contact.

Earlier today, my phone buzzed with a call which I picked up, despite being just 14 years old. Occasionally, I do take calls as my family runs a small business, and I often jot down messages. However, when I answered this time, I was met with silence as if the line was simply buzzing, rather than someone calling me. It feels like it could be a company fishing for personal details about my family. Whatever you do, don’t divulge any sensitive information! If you’re curious about their intentions, perhaps concoct some false details to expose their tactics!
