6 yearssomebody called, said they were from microsoft and even knew my name, didn’t trust it and just ended the call.Microsoft6 yearsSo, today my phone rings again from ‘Microsoft’, but this time it was someone speaking with an Indian accent claiming there was an issue with my computer. I quickly replied, “Oh yeah, there’s definitely a problem. Every time I hit a key, this happens,” then I gave a loud blast on a bicycle horn (which I keep handy just for moments like this) right into the receiver, four times in a row. He got off lightly though - years back, I dealt with some persistent late-night silent caller by shooting a blank from an 8mm pistol right into the phone. That kept them quiet for good!Microsoft6 yearsFraudster - I’ve put him on my blocked list.6 yearsI wonder why these scam callers never try to talk in Welsh. They always hang up straight away. After that happens, I just block their number.6 yearsI’m in the 01788 area myself, and it’s annoying how these dodgy callers use local numbers just so people are more likely to pick up. I wonder who’s selling them these numbers - is it BT or someone else?6 yearsI've received yet another one of those nuisance silent calls, despite my number being registered with the telephone preference service. What a bother!6 yearsI got a call from some guy named Quy, and I told him I work at Microsoft. Then he went and searched my name online, found out I actually work at ### university, and started yelling at me, calling me a liar. After that, he rang me again, said he knew where I worked for real, and just hung up on me.QuyMicrosoft6 yearsaround half past nine in the morning, my phone buzzed with a number i didn’t know. normally, i ignore calls from unfamiliar numbers, but this one seemed local so i picked up. the person on the other end spoke with a latino accent and asked for me by name, saying they were from amazon. they told me my amazon account was compromised and someone was pretending to be me to order an iphone. they offered to cancel the purchase for me, but i told them i'd handle it on my own and ended the call.Amazon6 yearsThis number called me, and an Asian guy answered saying he was from Microsoft.Microsoft6 yearsGot a call from the typical Microsoft tech support scammers early today, about 8:30am. I told the bloke I was the cleaner, and he sounded surprised like "this early in the morning?" They really dont stop, do they? We don’t even use Microsoft, only some other stuff. I bet for older people in town this kind of rubbish is proper annoying.Microsoft6 yearsgot a call from a woman with an indian accent asking if she was speaking to mr ##HHHHH. my husband picked up but she mangled his name a bit. he told her to feck off pretty quick. these random calls worry me, especially since he's 83. luckily ive made sure he knows all about scammers and how to deal with them.HHHHH6 yearsClaimed to be affiliated with Microsoft.Microsoft6 yearsGot a call from a man with an Indian accent asking if he was speaking to Mr so-and-so. I replied, "I'm his wife," trying out a deeper voice for laughs. He just carried on anyway. Claimed he was calling from Microsoft, but I told him I don’t even have internet at home, hoping he’d back off. Then he switched gears and said I'd ordered an iPhone, and £795 was about to be taken from my account. He asked if I was okay for him to send it out. I chuckled and told him good luck, hoping he has my address - and then he actually read it out to me. Honestly, so tired of these early morning calls!Microsoft6 yearsI’m in the 01788 area and noticed these scammers picking local numbers so people are more likely to pick up. How do they even get these numbers? Does BT have a role in this?Submit Your Own Report (01788 577869)
