I had a rather unsettling experience with a dodgy scam artist who had a strong foreign accent, purporting to be from EE and discussing my contract. Given that I'm actually with O2, I thought it best to end the conversation right then and there. I've also made sure to block this number to avoid any further nonsense!

Got a call from some bloke with a thick foreign accent, claimed to be Joe from Currys. Started being really pushy but as soon as I said I wasn't interested, he just cut me off. Proper awful behaviour, clearly trying to scam folks.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Currys mobile, trying to push me into signing up for a new phone. I told them I’m still tied to a contract, and then they said they’d cover the cost of cancelling it with EE. Sounds way too good to be true, like a typical scam just fishing for my bank info. Wouldn’t trust it for a second.

Yesterday and today, this number kept ringing my mum pretending to be from Currys, asking if she wanted to upgrade her phone. She's actually been searching for a phone contract, so she ended up giving them her bank and card info, thinking it was legit from Carphone Warehouse inside Currys. I’m a bit lost on what steps to take now. Would really appreciate any help or tips.

Caller claimed to be from Curry’s, offering a special deal on the iPhone 14. They asked loads of personal stuff like what gadgets I use and how much I pay for my current plans. After the call ended, I tried ringing back but the line just wouldn’t connect and kept blocking my calls. Feels like a classic phishing trick to me.
