Got a call from some robotic voice saying my internet was in danger and would cut out in a day or so. I've had loads of these calls before, so I instantly knew it was a con. Curiosity got the better of me, so I pressed "1" to chat with an 'advisor', fully expecting a strong Asian accent on the other end. Sure enough, that's exactly what I got! I just told her to disconnect me because I was switching internet companies. Then the line just went dead.

I received a pre-recorded message claiming that my internet was at risk and would be shut down within the next 24 hours. Having encountered similar scams repeatedly, I was instantly sceptical. Just for a giggle, I pressed “1” to get through to an “advisor”, anticipating the usual Asian accent on the other end. True to form, it was just that! I informed her I wanted to be disconnected, as I was switching providers. Suddenly, the line went silent. What a farce!
