I received a call from the number 01827896257, where a woman was attempting to persuade my wife to allow her to repair our computer. My wife firmly declined, but then a man called back with an even more forceful approach. Despite our repeated refusals, they rang us again today, a staggering seven times in a row! It's clearly a scam of the highest order.

Had another one of those calls from someone with an Asian accent pretending my computer was full of viruses. Definitely steer clear, these people are just trying to hack your PC with malware. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Just like everyone else here, I got a call about an issue with my computer. I asked them what computer they were even talking about and also how they had found my number in the first place. Total scam, nothing legit about it.

Got a call from an Asian guy who used my name and said there was an issue with my main PC. I told him to take me off his list, and he started getting all rude and upset, insisting there was a problem with my computer. I said I don’t even own a computer, which only made him more annoyed, so I just ended the call. Total scam alert! Best not to pick up and just block the number straight away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, asking to speak to the primary user of my computer. I received a rather annoying silent call from the number 01787 315859 at twenty past nine on the morning of the 5th of January, 2016. It seems to be a local area code, yet upon investigation, it appears to belong to some sort of automated scam operation. Therefore, I'm categorising this call as a bothersome nuisance. The caller didn’t say a word!

I got a call from this number, and there was an Asian gentleman on the line asking about who primarily uses the computer at my home. Definitely felt like a scam, so I promptly ended the call. Caller was unknown.

I recently received one of these dubious calls but chose to ignore it. Having perused the comments above, they sound strikingly similar to the TalkTalk scam calls-especially since they seem to be using personal names, which suggests they’ve managed to glean some private information about us. It would be rather interesting to find out if the individuals who commented are all TalkTalk customers or if they’ve been affected by that notorious TalkTalk data breach. If you fall into that category, I strongly suggest informing TalkTalk about these calls. Most crucially, do not engage with them, and under no circumstances should you download anything or click on links they provide, especially on your computers! - caller: Digital Security Specialist

Received a call regarding my computer issues. I informed the caller that I don’t possess a computer, clearly indicating it was a scam. They abruptly ended the conversation. Funny thing is, I’m meant to be registered with a telephone preference service. - caller: 01787 315859

This was definitely a scam. I got called by an Asian lady who was really aggressive when I asked questions. She wasn’t willing to listen that I didn’t want or need anything from her. I had to raise my voice just to try and get a word in. Proper annoying!

Got a call around 3:30 this afternoon, the caller knew my name which was a bit off. They spoke with a really heavy Indian accent and kept pushing that my main computer was having problems and needed fixing. I just said no thanks and ended the call. Looking it up afterwards, I’m pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent. He was trying to trick me into logging into my PC. He actually had my full name, address and phone number, even though I’m on the TPS list. He warned me that all my computers would be cut off if I didn’t follow his instructions. Very risky - never share any details with them. He also called from 01827896257.

I just got a call, answered it and there was silence for a bit before a bloke with a really thick Indian accent asked if Mr Nicholas was there. Could hardly make out what he was saying. I said no one by that name lives here and ended the call. My husband’s called Nick, but something felt off. Glad I checked the reviews afterwards, looks like I was right to be wary. Shame I can’t block the number on our landline like I do on my mobile!

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Indian, had a thick accent but some proper English name. It was obvious the call was coming from abroad but using a UK number to hide it. Classic PC scam, they said my computer had some issues (like malware) and offered to sort it out for me. They want you to give them remote access, but that’s how they sneak in keyloggers and other nasty stuff. I’m signed up to TPS, so really this call shouldn’t have happened at all.

I received a call from a gentleman with what sounded like an Asian accent who attempted to convince me to access my computer. This individual had my details-my name, address, and phone number-which is quite alarming since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list. He threatened that all my devices would be cut off if I didn’t follow his instructions. This is a serious RED FLAG-do not share any personal information with them! I also noted that the number 01827896257 was used. Beware of these scams!

I got a call saying there was an issue with my home computer, which is odd since we haven’t used it in ages. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I just went ahead and blocked the number. Probably best to be careful with these kinds of calls.

I reckon it’s definitely a scam. I received a call from a number I didn't recognise, so I didn’t pick it up. Plus, my computer’s been absolutely fine, no hiccups whatsoever. Just the other day, I came across a segment on Watchdog detailing similar dodgy calls where they claim to be from Windows support, only to gain access to your computer and swindle your personal info. Best to steer clear of this sort of nonsense!

I received a rather irritating call from someone inquiring about my "Windows Computer." I promptly informed the caller that I don't possess one, as I only have a work laptop in my possession. To my astonishment, he responded with a patronising chuckle, suggesting I mightn't even know what I own! After correcting him in a rather heated manner, I requested to be removed from their calling list and ended the conversation. Normally, I tend to ignore such calls, but I foolishly decided to answer this one since it appeared to be from a nearby number!

I had a rather patronising individual ring me up about my computer. I tried numerous times to get her to clarify the name of her company, but she was impossibly vague and never gave me a direct answer. In the end, I decided enough was enough, hung up, and promptly blocked the number!

My encounter was quite akin to what others have mentioned. I figured out it was a con almost instantly, as the chap on the other end, with a distinctly African or Nigerian accent, insisted on confirming my identity. The conversation unfolded like this: Him: Good day, are you Mr 'Anon'? Me: That would depend. Who's asking, and what exactly do you want? Him: It doesn't involve any conditions. We're simply going to cut off your computer connection. And just like that, he terminated the call. I truly hope the authorities catch these rogues and hit them with a hefty penalty. I've been getting a fair few calls like this over the past couple of months, all from various numbers. Beware of this number! It’s a typical scam call - they try to lure you in with a ‘fix your computer’ pitch.
