Got a call from 01827896257, some woman claiming she needed to sort out our computer. My missus told her we weren't interested. Then a bloke phoned, sounded quite pushy, but still no from us. Today they spammed our phone, ringing back seven times in a row. Definitely a dodgy scam going on.

Got a call from an Asian guy who used my name and said there was an issue with my main PC. I told him to take me off his list, and he started getting all rude and upset, insisting there was a problem with my computer. I said I don’t even own a computer, which only made him more annoyed, so I just ended the call. Total scam alert! Best not to pick up and just block the number straight away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, asking to speak to the primary user of my computer. When I asked who she was and where she was calling from, she suddenly got quite rude and just ended the call. Be careful, don’t trust whatever they say. Just got a call from one of these numbers and decided not to answer.. Reading through what others have said, it sounds an awful lot like those scam calls pretending to be from TalkTalk. They even seem to know your name, which suggests they might have some of your info already. I’m curious if those who’ve reported these calls actually have TalkTalk accounts or were victims of the TalkTalk data breach. If that’s the case, I’d say definitely let TalkTalk know about these calls. This was definitely a scam. I got called by an Asian lady who was really aggressive when I asked questions. She wasn’t willing to listen that I didn’t want or need anything from her. I had to raise my voice just to try and get a word in. Proper annoying!

Got a call around 3:30 this afternoon, the caller knew my name which was a bit off. They spoke with a really heavy Indian accent and kept pushing that my main computer was having problems and needed fixing. I just said no thanks and ended the call. Looking it up afterwards, I’m pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent. He was trying to trick me into logging into my PC. He actually had my full name, address and phone number, even though I’m on the TPS list. I just got a call, answered it and there was silence for a bit before a bloke with a really thick Indian accent asked if Mr Nicholas was there. Could hardly make out what he was saying. I said no one by that name lives here and ended the call. My husband’s called Nick, but something felt off. Glad I checked the reviews afterwards, looks like I was right to be wary. Shame I can’t block the number on our landline like I do on my mobile!

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Indian, had a thick accent but some proper English name. It was obvious the call was coming from abroad but using a UK number to hide it. Classic PC scam, they said my computer had some issues (like malware) and offered to sort it out for me. They want you to give them remote access, but that’s how they sneak in keyloggers and other nasty stuff. I’m signed up to TPS, so really this call shouldn’t have happened at all.

Honestly, I reckon it’s a scam. Got a call from a number I didn’t know but didn’t pick up since everything’s fine with my computer. I remember watching something on Watchdog about it recently - they pretend to be from Windows and try to hack your PC to nick your data. Best to just ignore and stay clear of these sorts of calls.

Got a call about my “Windows Computer” today. Told them straight up I don’t have one (seriously, I only have a work laptop), and the bloke just laughed at me, saying something like “you don’t even know if you own a computer.” Took the mickey a bit, so I had to set him straight, told him to remove me from their calling list, then ended the call. Normally I ignore these numbers but since it was from a nearby area code, I foolishly thought it might be legit!

I had a pretty much the same run-in as the person above. As soon as the call started, I knew it was a scam. The guy sounded African, maybe Nigerian, and kept asking me to confirm my identity. Here’s how it played out: Him: Are you Mr Anon? Me: That’s a bit cheeky, who’s this and what do you want? Him: Doesn’t matter. We’re just gonna disconnect your PC anyway. Then he just cut the call. Some idiot rang me claiming there was a problem with a work computer and then started asking me all sorts of personal stuff. I wasn’t very gentle telling them to piss off and they just cut the call.
