Just had one of those calls claiming “we’ve been trying to reach you” and threatening to disconnect my internet for supposed “illegal actions.” I didn’t press 1 as they wanted. Instead, I called back then blocked the number. Two things gave it away for me: first, there’s always a short pause before the automated voice kicks in, and second, they always say something vague like “your internet provider” without naming anyone. Honestly, if it was serious, my real provider would have told me who they are right from the beginning.
