Got a call about energy at like 6.40 in the evening, seemed like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone called Martin at Rethink Energy, sounded quite believable like one of those chatbots, but it was definitely a con. Then, a couple of days on, the same 0118 Reading number rang me again.

Called me but just dropped the call as soon as I picked up, no words said.

So, this Martin Leadbetter guy rang me from a new number. He says he’s not making a cold call and wanted to chat about my energy use. According to him, I’m one of the highest consumers in the whole of the UK! I told him last week to stop calling me, so I asked why he was bothering me again. He didn’t have any good answers about how he got my energy details. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

They claimed it had to do with my energy and home services, so I asked them to verify my address first, but then they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone called Martin who claimed he was with an energy company and insisted it wasn’t a cold call. He asked if I owned the property, but I wasn’t having any of it and ended up hanging up. Pretty sure it was a cold call all along, so he lied right from the beginning.

I picked up the phone but there was silence at first, then I started hearing voices and noises from the background for like 10 minutes. After a while, I just decided to hang up. Sounds like it might have been some kinda scam call.
