Got a call from someone claiming to be Scottish Power, who we actually use. They said they wanted to “renew our contract” but messed up the contract date so I got suspicious and figured they weren’t really SP. Seems like a common trick where they try to find out who your supplier is then switch you over without you realising - they then pocket a commission from the new company. You only find out when your original supplier sends you a letter saying “Sorry to see you go” and you’ve been switched without agreeing to it.
