This number kept ringing me 5 times within 5 minutes, then it rang again about half an hour later. I tried calling it back because it showed up as a hospital number, but the message said the number isn’t recognised. I’ve got an answerphone, so if it really was the hospital, they’d have left a message by now.

Somebody unknown called both my landline and my cell. I phoned Stafford Hospital on their official number and they said "WE DON'T RECOGNISE THAT NUMBER". I asked to speak to the department I was supposed to get a call from and they said "NO, WE HAVEN'T CALLED YOU, YOUR APPOINTMENT'S NOT SCHEDULED YET AND WE ALWAYS LEAVE A MESSAGE"... So now I'm thinking this could be a dodgy call.
