I called NHS 111 and waited for their call back. However, I received a call from a number in Stafford instead. They mentioned something about seeing a doctor for my son, but there isn't any location within 120 miles of where I live (in a city!) that matches that. I informed them about the nearest out-of-hours facility to me, and they apologized. But then I heard female laughter and the call abruptly ended. Just 2 minutes later, I received a call from a local number, which turned out to be my actual local out-of-hours service.

Got a call from this number at 2.15am today. The bloke said he was a doctor calling to follow up and make sure everything was alright after the paramedics came. Would be really annoyed if this is some kind of scam, as I’m responsible for elderly parents who are at risk of falls and might need urgent help. Drove 60 miles early morning only to find them sound asleep, no idea about any emergency!

I was woken up startled when my phone rang at 3am! It was a female voice on the other end asking if I was associated with the xxxx xxxx dementia care home. I quickly responded that I wasn't, but my wife happened to be residing there. Naturally, I asked if there was a problem. Surprisingly, she claimed that she couldn't share any confidential information. This whole situation seemed very strange to me. After all, everyone has my mobile number, and only my GP has been given my home number. How on earth did this person manage to specifically inquire about the care home linked to me out of all the local care homes? And for what purpose? It seemed like their only intention was to disturb my sleep for no apparent reason!
