They phoned me a few times over a couple days but didn't leave any message. The area code was the same each time. My neighbour dealt with this about a year back - it was a bank scam pretending there were withdrawals from their account (HSBC) and hinted at problems with the staff at the branch nearby (which sounded dodgy). Obviously, a real bank wouldn't word it like that and was probably fishing for personal info.

They rang me twice really close together, and since I share the same STD code, I figured it must be a call centre. Of course, they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. Such a common thing these days.
