Blocking them tends to be futile, as they simply choose another number for their next attempt. In my role on a bustling switchboard in a sizable company, I'm constantly bombarded by these calls. One particular 'scam caller' from India, who claims to represent a well-known UK energy provider, often rings me from numbers with a Scottish area code. If I end the call (which they certainly don’t appreciate!), they will persistently ring back, sometimes up to six times in a row within ten minutes, using an assortment of different area codes to ensure their call doesn’t get brushed aside.
