I got a call from this number for the first time today. Since it showed as a strange number, my phone stopped it from ringing through. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now. I don’t bother calling back unknown numbers anyway.

Avoid this number at all costs! They claim to be from Microsoft and say they can repair your computer, but it’s just a nasty scam. Best thing to do is hang up straight away.

Had almost the exact same run-in with this person. I let him ramble on, nodding along about all the tech issues I was supposedly facing with my devices. Knowing full well it was a scam, I never planned on sharing anything personal. I just kept the conversation vague. When he said he’d fetch his manager and wanted me to stay on the line, I quickly ended the call.

Fake number, indeed! As per OFCOM's documentation, that particular batch of numbers hasn't been issued for public use. It’s definitely advisable to block it if you have the option.
