I have no idea who this is, but they’ve phoned me six times over the past week.

Got a call from someone going on about how I might lose my house if I end up in a care home when I’m older. Didn’t wanna hear it, so I just ended the call. Honestly, I’ve got enough on my plate right now without getting scared about things that might happen down the line.

I got six calls in one day about a missed payment on an Amazon card, even though I’d already paid the balance and arranged a direct debit. When I finally picked up the sixth call, the person asked for me by name, but then wanted me to confirm my postcode and birthday to verify my identity. I said no. He wouldn’t say what the call was about, and when I asked where he was calling from (I already knew the number), he said he didn’t know and couldn’t stay on the line long, then just hung up. He sounded polite but it all felt a bit fake.
