I got a call from a Dr. at the Nile Practice, who had my complete medical records and even used my full name. They wanted to check if I was keen to continue with hormone replacement therapy. I'm currently in Spain and the number that popped up was +44 1782 969953. Sure, I’m aware it’s easy for callers to fake numbers these days, but this one felt genuine to me.

Yesterday afternoon I got a call from this number, and they started asking me about a car crash I supposedly had recently. Problem is, I hadn’t been in any accident at all. I played along and told them yes, I did have one. When they asked for the date, I just said they should know since they were calling about it. They soon caught on I was messing with them and just ended the call. Seriously, don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers! It’s so frustrating and can be risky!

The person on the other end didn’t utter a word, so I decided to disconnect the call after a rather awkward 21 seconds.
