This was a total ripoff.

A bloke rang me up and actually asked for me by my name. He claimed to be from some sort of "Your lotto" thing. I just said cheers, hung up quickly and blocked the number. He spoke nice and calm, sounded like he wanted to seem trustworthy and proper. You could hear loads of chatter behind him, like he was in a call centre with a bunch of people on the phone.

They didn’t even bother leaving a message. Definitely the wrong number!

Most of the time when the phone goes quiet after 4 or 5 rings, I reckon it’s just one of those cold callers.

When the phone goes off, I pick it up, and there's an eerie pause before some dreadful robotic voice chimes in with a quick farewell. I'm inclined to think it’s a scam of some sort, so do keep your wits about you!
