No worries, it’s just the Royal Stoke hospital sending a reminder for my appointment. They ask you to hit any button to confirm you’re actually paying attention instead of leaving a message. For me, it was to confirm my outpatient visit.

Got a appointment at County Hospital Stafford next week and got one of those reminder calls. Annoying on mobile when it wants you to press buttons tho. Glad it’s just a normal call, so I won’t block it.

Received a pre-recorded message earlier on. When I returned the call, I was met with a notification stating, "You received a call today from a number that was kept private." I don't reside in Staffordshire, so I can't fathom why North Staffs Hospital would be attempting to contact me.

I decided to give the number a ring, but all I got was an endless dead tone. Interestingly, I spotted a comment earlier mentioning it's an "automated service from North Staffs Hospital for confirming upcoming appointments." Well, I do have an appointment scheduled for next week, so it could very well have been that.

I've received a call from Royal Stoke Hospital, which I believe is part of their reminder service. However, I'm afraid it's more of a nuisance than a help. For starters, when they call, it often goes straight to voicemail, leaving precious little time for me to pick up. To make matters worse, it doesn’t even leave a message when it does so! If I try to return the call, I just get that dreadful unobtainable tone. This has led many folks, including myself, to suspect it’s some sort of scam. The frequency is just maddening, as it rings twice a day, usually around the same time. If you somehow manage to answer and navigate through all the prompts, they stop calling-until your next appointment rolls around, of course!

Seems like it's an automated line for University Hospital North Staffs staff. It functions alright on my home landline (you press a number to hear info about your appointment and another number to confirm it). BUT IT DOESN'T WORK ON MY MOBILE - none of the number keys do anything when I try.

I've received messages from this number that say it’s for me, prompting me to hit a key on my phone to listen to the full content. When I don’t answer, the line just goes silent. This isn’t the first time I've been called from this number; it’s happened quite a few times now. Can anyone advise me on how to put a stop to these calls?

I've been receiving calls from this particular number, and to my dismay, there's never a response when I pick up. I have a strong hunch that it might be linked to the hospital in Stoke-on-Trent, considering I'm currently a patient. However, after reaching out to different departments, they all seem utterly clueless about the calls. It's incredibly frustrating and leaves me feeling quite unsettled. This issue really needs to be addressed promptly.

Its not a hospital, if you call it back all you get is a disconnected tone. They called again and left a voicemail saying to press any key to listen, which Ive never had on a voicemail before.

This number called me earlier, said it was from Stafford County Hospital checking if I could confirm my hospital appointment next Saturday. They mentioned I got a letter about it before. Everything seems fine.

They called me back-to-back twice. I missed both but called back straight away, and there was just silence. I've got a hospital appointment next week at Royal Stoke, so maybe it's linked, but it’s strange they phoned so late at 7.40pm. I’ve had loads of appointments there in the past couple months and never got a call for any of those. Maybe the system was down because of Covid and it’s working again now?

This could be the legitimate phone number for Royal Stoke Hospital, but seriously, get your system fixed so people actually have a chance to pick up. Or at least provide a number so we can ring you back. If it’s those cold callers, isn’t it illegal to use automated diallers? So why are you still using that setup?
