Got a voicemail from this number, but when I rang it back, it told me someone tried to call me but had kept their number private. I definitely don’t live near Staffordshire, so it’s odd that North Staffs Hospital would be trying to get in touch with me.

I called the number back and all I got was silence. Somewhere in the comments above someone mentioned it might be an automated message from North Staffs hospital about confirming appointments. I do have a hospital appointment next week, so maybe that’s what this was about.

Got a reminder call from Royal Stoke Hospital about an appointment. Annoyingly, you can’t ring back this number if you happened to miss the call. Really frustrating!

I get calls from the Royal Stoke Hospital, supposedly just reminders. But honestly, it causes more confusion than help. It usually goes straight to voicemail without giving you much chance to pick up. Then, there’s no message left at all. If you try calling back, you just get that 'number not available' signal. Most folks would probably think it’s a scam because of this. For me, it rings a couple of times every day around the same time. If you do manage to answer and respond to all the questions, it seems to pause the calls until your next appointment comes up!

Seems like it's an automated line for University Hospital North Staffs staff. It functions alright on my home landline (you press a number to hear info about your appointment and another number to confirm it). BUT IT DOESN'T WORK ON MY MOBILE - none of the number keys do anything when I try.

I keep getting calls from this same number. When I answer, it says there’s a message for me and tells me to press any key to listen to it. If I don’t pick up, the call just ends. It’s pretty annoying. Anyone knows how I can block these calls?

This number has rung me a few times but whenever I pick up, there’s dead silence. I reckon it might be Stoke-on-Trent hospital since I’m one of their patients. The strange thing is, when I ring different departments, none of them seem to know anything about the calls. It's really frustrating and quite worrying not knowing what’s going on. Someone really needs to fix this ASAP.

Its not a hospital, if you call it back all you get is a disconnected tone. They called again and left a voicemail saying to press any key to listen, which Ive never had on a voicemail before.

They called me back-to-back twice. I missed both but called back straight away, and there was just silence. I've got a hospital appointment next week at Royal Stoke, so maybe it's linked, but it’s strange they phoned so late at 7.40pm. I’ve had loads of appointments there in the past couple months and never got a call for any of those. Maybe the system was down because of Covid and it’s working again now?

This could be the legitimate phone number for Royal Stoke Hospital, but seriously, get your system fixed so people actually have a chance to pick up. Or at least provide a number so we can ring you back. If it’s those cold callers, isn’t it illegal to use automated diallers? So why are you still using that setup?

Got a call reminding me of an appointment at University Hospital of North Midlands Trust, either Royal Stoke or County at Stafford. They asked me to press some numbers but it didn’t always respond properly. Seems legit to get these calls tho.

Got a call from 01782580403 a few minutes ago. Didn’t know the number so i let it ring and it went to voicemail. They left a 3 second silent message. Turns out it was the NHS hospital checking about an appointment i have soon. I got a letter about it already so no need to call back. But if the letter hadn’t arrived, i’d be glad they phoned cause i woulda been none the wiser.
