I just got a call from someone saying they’re from BT. They told me my BT Hub was hacked and that they needed to put some software on my computer to sort it out. Total scam, watch out!

At 19:25 on July 1, my landline got a call from 0178249588712. Since I have Sky Talk Shield active, I was prompted to ask the caller’s name first. The call came through to the house asking me if I wanted to accept the call from whoever named themselves. As the caller refused to give a name, they just hung up. Even though the call was dropped, the number still shows up on the call log, which means you can check it out later to see what other people say about it. If it was really important, I reckon they’d ring back and properly introduce themselves before trying to chat.
