I received a rather unsettling voicemail from someone who said they were representing HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs). They insisted that they were initiating legal action against me for allegedly dodging taxes. It really threw me for a loop! To add to the urgency, they prompted me to hit 1 without delay. Quite alarming, to say the least!

Sounds like one of those dodgy debt collector scams to me.

Someone called claiming to be from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, saying they've taken legal action against me and my home was being watched. Then they gave me a different number to ring straight away.

I returned the call and was greeted by a robotic voice saying, "Thank you for reaching out to the debt helpline." Quite a peculiar experience, I must say!

I have a hunch that this individual may be up to no good, possibly attempting to trick people. I can't confirm my suspicions, but it would be wise to stay vigilant.
