I received just a single ring, and by the time I reached for my phone, the call had already ended.

They claimed to be reaching out on behalf of Amazon, stating that my subscription to Amazon Prime had been terminated and urging me to press 1 for help in restoring it. I've since blocked that number! The thing is, I've never had an Amazon Prime account at any point!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying they'd charged me £79. They said if I wanted to cancel the payment, I should press a button. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.

When I picked up, there was silence for a few seconds, then an automated message said ‘thank you and goodbye’. Sounds like another one of those scam calls to me! I’ve blocked tons of numbers already, but they just keep ringing from different ones, usually when it’s really inconvenient. Is there anyone we can report this to? There’s gotta be some official authority that deals with this and can put a stop to these scammers, right? It’s just plain theft in my eyes - why else would they keep calling if not to rip off ordinary, hardworking people who pay their taxes?

Got a call from some Indian call centre claiming to be from Openreach. I just hung up straightaway cos Openreach never contacts people directly - I learned that after trying to get fibre broadband details from them before. When I rang back to check who they really were, they had this name screening thing to block me. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam about frauds or something.

Got a call from someone pretending to be a Sky engineer checking on my internet. When I began throwing some questions their way, they just ended the call on me. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

If folks were really decent, why would they be the ones ringing you up? You'd be the one looking for them, surely. I'm a theatre sister working night shifts right now, and honestly, these creepy callers should just be done away with!

I missed the call but quickly dialled 1471 to check who was ringing me. Luckily caught the number that way.

total rip off, watch out!

It’s really annoying how they always ring up just when I’m already on another call. I’m quite swamped with loads on my plate and can’t afford to waste time chatting. Turned out, the people were trying to push furniture on me.

They rang me twice. I didn’t answer the first call, but when I finally picked up the second one, they just ended the call right away.
