Got a call earlier today from someone claiming there were unusual charges on my “bank card.” They kept urging me to press a button to keep the call going. Definitely felt like a phishing attempt.

At first, it sounded like a proper call from Virgin Media, saying there were alerts about my internet not working right. They asked about the lights on my modem and how many gadgets were connected to my wifi. Then, they handed me over to their ‘tech support’ team to sort it out. They asked if I was using an iPhone, then told me I needed to download a couple of apps. One was AnyDesk - an app that lets people remotely access your internet setup (if it was really Virgin Media, they’d already have that access!). I ended the call straight away - be careful and don’t fall for it!
