Picked up the call but there was nothing on the other end.

Rather than continue blocking each specific number from the 01782 area code-most of which have already been blacklisted-I’ve opted to simply block the entire area code. This should, fingers crossed, cut off all incoming calls from that region. Since we don’t currently have any legitimate contact numbers tied to Stoke-on-Trent, this approach suits us just fine for now. I rather suspect we might not have any in the future either!

Just yesterday, on the 25th of July 2023, I received a couple of dodgy calls from Stoke-on-Trent. The first one came through at 9:16 am from the number 01782 256884. I answered, but the caller had already hung up, so I've gone ahead and blocked that one. Then, at 12:56 pm, another call rang in from 01782 258433. I chose not to answer, and unsurprisingly, they didn’t leave a message. Fast forward to today, the 26th of July 2023, and lo and behold, at 15:41 pm, I got a call from 01782 254441. Again, I let it ring, as the caller didn’t bother to leave a message. It’s all very likely a series of silent nuisance calls from the same source. I reckon I'll be blocking the other numbers shortly as well!

I just received a call from this number a moment ago but chose not to pick up. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail either. Given that the area code matches, it seems to be yet another scam similar to one I got yesterday. I did answer that one, but it turned out to be silent on the other end, so I’ve since blocked that number. This one is getting the same treatment!
