I received a call from a woman with an Asian accent, asserting that she was representing BT Openreach. She mentioned something about problems with my internet connection. The catch is, I don’t even use BT Openreach for my broadband! Clearly, it seems like a dodgy scam to me!

Scam alert! Just got a call saying I’m hundreds of pounds behind on my Amazon payments - what a load of rubbish. Don’t bother with this nonsense, these scammers really get on my nerves! 😡

Annoying caller with a South Asian accent who was quite impolite. He said he was from BT at first - started with "Ma'am, how are you today?" then mentioned some kind of alert about my internet. When I asked him to clarify, he couldn't really explain. I asked him to send me something in writing, and he got a bit louder, saying he didn't have a pen or something. So I just ended the call.

I got a call from this number where the person said they were from British Telecom and told me there were problems with my line. When I asked them some tricky questions, they just ended the call. Seems like a classic scam attempt to me.

Earlier on, I got a call from a bloke claiming there was an issue with my internet security. He started firing off loads of questions, but I told him I don't use BT and actually don't have any gadgets hooked up to the net at the moment. He got really mardy and I told him I reckoned he was trying to scam me. Next thing, he starts calling me thick and rude names before hanging up. Usually, I just let these calls run till they bore themselves off, but I wasn’t having any of it today! I must get about 8 or 9 of these every week.

Just got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from BT Openreach. When I asked where they were located, they gave me a London address. I mentioned I actually work for BT Openreach and there’s no office there, then they quickly ended the call. Pretty suspicious if you ask me. Oh, and this is the third time today I’ve had calls from people with Asian accents. Strange.

Got a dodgy call, definitely a scam.

I received a phone call from a chap with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT, insisting that my computer was infested with viruses downloaded from the internet. I recognised it as a scam immediately, but I was curious to see how far he'd carry on! Usually, when I ask for a callback number (assuming it was an overseas call), they do a runner. However, this one actually provided me with another number-01618188421-after I asked, which I later discovered was yet another con artist number linked to BT. He proceeded to share what he called the "computer ID Licensing reference," which I haven’t bothered to check for authenticity, along with my surname and my town, information I hadn’t volunteered. When he pressed me to access my computer, I replied I’d call my official BT number instead to sort it out. It’s alarming how inventive they’ve become in their pursuits to impersonate legitimate businesses. Just a heads-up: I was advised by BT some time ago that they would never initiate contact about any computer issues; they would only reach out if I had specifically reported a problem to them first. So do keep your wits about you!

I’ve had a similar experience. A woman with an Indian accent claimed she was from BT and was urgently trying to discuss my internet connection. She insisted it was critical and needed to chat with the account holder. I told her to shove off and ended the call! It's baffling how these scammers are still allowed to pester folks. Someone unsuspecting might fall for it and comply with their requests! It really riles me up!

Got a call from them around 9:45 this morning on a Saturday about my BT phone line. I told them everything's fine and to stop calling me. I even asked them to send me a letter instead. Then I just hung up.

I reckon it’s a dodgy call. They said they were from BT, insisting that my computer was somehow sending out alerts about viruses being downloaded. Yet, when I asked for more details, they abruptly hung up. Classic scam tactics, if you ask me!

Got a call around 11:10 this morning from a guy with a really thick Indian accent claiming to be from BT. He went on about some complicated thing regarding our internet not being secure. I asked him a couple of times to give me the name on the account they thought they were contacting, but he rushed through it so fast I couldn't catch it - and it definitely wasn’t the right name. I told him I suspected it was a scam and ended the call.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT, saying my computer was throwing error messages for the past three days and that my internet speed was all over the place or something like that. I played along for a bit, then told him I had a few questions. Mentioned I’d just moved and was still waiting for a phone provider to set me up - which definitely wasn’t BT! Lol. Also pointed out that it’d be about three weeks before I actually got internet, so how could my non-existent internet be sending error messages? Guess what? He just dropped the call. Classic!

These idiots ring me pretty much every day, sometimes a couple of times daily. Do they really reckon we fall for it that easily? A few are super stubborn, carrying on even when I’m getting proper rude with them each time. But once I give a quick, sharp tell-off with some abrupt gestures, they finally quit and hang up!

I've been getting these calls quite regularly now, roughly three times a week. The caller, who has an Indian accent, claims to be from BT, going on about some concerns with my internet security. It's always the same - they never actually leave a voicemail and most times, the call just goes to my answering machine. Quite bothersome, if you ask me!

So, got a call off some lady claiming to be from BT, saying my internet wasn’t safe or something. She quickly asked me to grab my laptop so she could walk me through the fix. I told her I wasn’t at home and couldn’t access my computer right now, asking if I could sort it out later on BT’s website. Then she just cut me off mid-call. Bit dodgy if you ask me.
