Today I got a call from a lady with an English accent saying someone had just taken £600 from my Mastercard about 15 minutes earlier. I rang Mastercard straight away, and they said it was a scam and my account hadn't been touched. They also mentioned the police are currently dealing with loads of these fraud attempts and are trying to catch the scammers. I hung up without pressing any buttons and plan to block that number on my landline now.
