They rang me at like 6 in the morning, woke me right up. I didn’t pick up, just yanked the phone out the socket instead.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who was proper pushy, wouldn’t accept me saying no. He phoned me back three times, shouting over me each time. I finally told him to get lost and hung up. Then, he called again and left a couple of voice messages on my answering machine with some really gross and shocking stuff about what he’d do to me. Honestly, I was taken aback!

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent, claiming she was from some tech support thing. She said we’d been ignoring her and that our laptop was seriously at risk if we didn’t follow her instructions. Loads of threats about what could go wrong. I wasn’t having any of it - told her exactly where to go and ended the call.

Got a call from some guy claiming to be from Microsoft, said there was an issue with my PC. He wanted to take control of my computer remotely. When I refused, he became pretty pushy and wouldn't back down. Definitely sounded like a scam call from an Indian call centre.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who called me “miss” followed by my first name. He claimed to be from TalkTalk and said there was an issue with my router. I told him there wasn’t any problem. He insisted there was and they wanted to fix it. Total scam, clearly. TalkTalk always sort any problems themselves, no need for me to do anything. It’s awful how these scammers try to get remote access from people who might not be tech-savvy. Why aren’t they being stopped yet?

Got a call from an Asian woman whose accent was a real struggle to catch. She seemed to be asking if I could buy bananas online or something like that. I told her I don’t sell fruit at all, bananas or otherwise, but maybe I’d consider selling a mango if the price was reasonable. That’s when she started swearing at me, threatening me with all sorts of bad luck aimed at my family. Bit over the top, if you ask me - I don’t even eat bananas!

Total spam call.

I got a call showing a Stamford number from Lincolnshire, pretty close to where I live, so I picked up. But all I got was dead silence and then a recorded voice saying "goodbye." I’ve since blocked the number with Talktalk’s 14258 blocking option.

GIVE THIS A GO: Save all your close mates, family and anyone else you want to keep track of in your contacts, then assign the same ringtone to all of them. This way, whenever they ring, you’ll hear that specific tone and know it’s safe to pick up. Another thing you could do is ring up the Telephone Preference Service on 0345 070 0707 (or 0800 398 893) to help block unwanted calls. Hope that helps a bit!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from TAKTALK, telling me there was an issue with my router. Total spam if you ask me. TalkTalk never bother checking into any problems, even when you make a proper complaint. Plus, they’d never ring up about some problem they found on their own without you knowing. Definitely a scam.

Got called twice from this number but I didn't pick up as I didn't know who it was. These calls are so annoying. I'm registered on the telephone preference service meant to block this sort of thing, but annoyingly, they still manage to ring me.

This number rang me up saying my internet router was damaged or something, which seemed off. When I contacted my service provider, they said they had no clue about any call like that. What freaked me out was how much personal info they apparently had on me.
