Received a call on my mobile earlier today, but they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. I decided to return the call via Skype, and an American-accented chap picked up saying, “Hi, this is Mathew from BTC. How may I assist you?” Strangely, he hung up as soon as I didn’t reply. Clearly just another nuisance call. The number was 01780322158.

got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who said she was checking up on a refund related to my bt account. i found it odd as i wasnt expecting any money back. could hear loads of chatter in the background, sounded like a call centre for sure. she knew my address though, so i told her to post me some proof, which i highly doubt they have. then she started rambling about how she worked with various banks, that’s when i thought enough’s enough and just hung up.

So, got a call from some bloke with a foreign accent claiming he wanted to give me a refund on my BT phone bill. Thing is, he rang my mobile and I don’t even have BT. When he asked for my postcode, I told him he should already have it if he’s supposedly from BT. Then he said he was calling from Black Pearl Claims or something like that - BPC, maybe? Didn’t really bother listening after that, just told him goodbye.

Got a call from what looked like a Lincolnshire number, so I assumed it was a mate from the past reaching out. Turns out it was a woman with a strong accent who wouldn’t stop talking and barely gave me a chance to speak. Honestly, one of the most irritating firms I've encountered in Stamford. Yesterday, I received a missed call, and they left me a voicemail. Oddly enough, there was no actual message, just a bunch of mumbling and what seemed to be some sort of office background noise! I never answer calls from unknown numbers; I figure if it’s really vital, they’ll drop me a message. The caller ID was 01780 322158.

It struck me as a rather dubious attempt, likely part of a widespread scam, where you could find yourself coughing up hefty commission fees for no actual return on your investment. Naturally, I decided to terminate the call.

Called me at 16:33 on 14th April 2015. I missed the call as I didn’t hear my phone ring, so I didn't pick up.

This number has rung me three times at precisely 1pm on the last three Thursdays. The initial call was an automated message just to confirm I picked up. I'm baffled as to how they even obtained my number in the first place. I've now decided to block the caller for good measure.

The caller ID displayed “Stamford”, but when I picked up, an Indian lady on the line claimed to be representing the BBC-at least that's what I gathered through her thick accent. She launched into the usual "How are you today, madam?" routine, but I cut her off and hung up. Curious, I redialled, and a man with a similar Indian accent answered with just a “hello?”, no introduction whatsoever. That didn’t sit well with me, so I decided to hang up again and promptly block the number.
