I’m pretty sure it’s the same voice that’s told me on at least 25 occasions about £300 being charged on Amazon and £1000 sent abroad - if that was true, my account would be empty ages ago! It’s definitely a scam but unfortunately, someone unlucky might end up pressing 1 or 2 like she asks.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be Kevin, said he was from some Financial Service Authority and that the bank had overcharged me, so they needed to refund me - total rubbish. When I asked him to repeat himself, he struggled with my English, which was a bit odd. Then when I told him it sounded like a scam, he got really rude and called me a fraud instead! Honestly, the only thing I could do was tell him to "bugger off" and hang up. I’ve blocked the number since. Definitely not a pleasant chat.

A lady said her name was Monica Patil and said she was from FCA claims regulation. Sounds like another one of those scams aimed at elderly folks. Best to just hang up or play along a bit and then hang up. If this number and scam keeps getting reported all the time, why haven't the authorities done anything about it yet? Got a call from these people once more. Twice yesterday, with one coming through as an international number. It's clearly a con, so I replied with "hello, west islands police" and they hung up straight away. Complete rubbish! NEVER SAY YES OR NO - BE AS VAGUE AS YOU CAN. I had an intriguing encounter the other day with a chap who claimed to be from the postcode lottery. He insisted I had won a card that supposedly offered discounts for my shopping. I managed to keep him on the line for a good ten minutes by peppering him with questions and requesting him to repeat his answers, saying I was rather ancient and hard of hearing. At one point, he inquired if I had a bank account, to which I replied, "Indeed, I've got several!" Then, I got curious and asked him if he had faith in God. He answered in the affirmative, so I probed further about whether he said his prayers. I suggested that he ought to seek forgiveness for making a living by attempting to swindle elderly women, or he might find himself in a rather unpleasant place when he leaves this world. We ended up having quite the theological debate about Hell before I decided it was time to hang up. Oh, and just to clarify, I don’t believe in any of that!

I decided to humour them; after all, if I kept them occupied on the line, that’d lessen their chances of conning someone else. So, I handed over a series of digits all beginning with 666 (since they’re the true tricksters in the mix). Naturally, they informed me that my details were incorrect, to which I responded, “Oh, my card must’ve lapsed then.” Regrettably, they hung up just as I was gearing up for a bit more banter at the expense of their scamming antics.

This number rang me really early, about 8.30 in the morning, and didn’t bother leaving any voicemail. I rang back straight away and was met with an automated voice almost instantly. It said something like, "Press 1 if you want to opt out of PCP" or something similar. I’m not totally certain about the exact name but it definitely sounded like PCP!

The person on the other end spoke with a strong Indian accent, which made it tough to catch what they were saying. They kept going on about me winning a bunch of vouchers for shops on the high street, claiming it was from the Postcode Lottery. I wasn’t having any of it; sounded like a total load of rubbish to me.
