This number is definitely real, it's from RAC Insurance. I had a problem where they tried to charge me an extra £20 because my debit card payment supposedly didn't go through. After checking the call recording, it turned out it was actually their mistake. Just a heads up to anyone dealing with this, don’t let them push you around on stuff like this!

It really seems dodgy to me, so I'd say steer clear of Dial Direct if you don't want hassle.

A woman with a northern English accent rang me from this number, claiming to be from M&S Car Insurance. She was following up on a call I’d made to their official number about an issue with my car insurance. Her voice and accent matched perfectly what I heard before when I spoke to M&S. When she put me on hold, the music playing was exactly the same as a few days ago - a really sad string quartet with lots of plucked strings. So, from what I can tell, she was genuinely with M&S. Maybe she’s working remotely and handles calls for more than one insurance company.
