These scammers are really preying on older folks who might not catch on quick. They rang my nan, who’s 95, three times on the 28th of February, warning her that her line was about to be cut off. BT have told me it’s all a scam. The number you get when dialling 1471 isn’t even real. They keep swapping their numbers so they can dodge the call blocking features. It’s awful stuff.

It seems that there's a nefarious group preying on the elderly and those who are particularly susceptible. My aunt, who is 95, received a trio of calls today (28/2) from these scammers, insisting that her phone service was on the verge of disconnection. BT has confirmed that this is indeed a scam tactic. When I tried to trace the number via 1471, it came back as unreachable. These criminals are clearly adept at switching their numbers to dodge call-blocking measures. It’s simply infuriating!
